Installation Instructions
You will need a tool to unscrew the nib assembly from your Montblanc 149 pen. You can purchase this tool from several sources. Be sure to select the nib removal tool for the 2014 and later 149 pens, as the tool for the pre-2014 pens will not work. After unscrewing the nib assembly, you will need to remove the nib and feed from the housing using a nib block, punch, and hammer. When you have the nib removed and feed removed from the housing, place the nib on top of the MC149AE feed, align the slit on the nib with the 3 slit ink slot on the feed. The end of the feed should be adjusted so it sits against the boss at the back of the feed as with the stock feed. Push the nib and feed into the housing until the end of the feed is fully inserted into the section. Screw the nib assembly into your Montblanc 149 pen, tighten with the nib tool, ink as normal, and enjoy.
Note, unlike earlier models of the Montblanc 149, the Montblanc housing for the new style pen does not have an internal inlay in which to align the nib and feed into the housing. By convention, the notches for the tool used to remove the nib assembly from the pen are aligned as shown here.
This feed can also be used with the BM149AE housing for use in pens that use Bock 380 nib assemblies
