Description

The JOWO6E-H is an exact replacement housing for JoWo #6 thermoplastic housing.

Manufactured in the USA by Flexible Nib Factory, LLC from black ebonite from Nikko (Japan).

JoWo #6 nib and feed not included.

Installation Instructions

Remove the JoWo #6 nib assembly from your pen.

• Empty your pen of ink in your usual way and rinse out the residue.
• Unscrew the nib assembly counterclockwise to remove it from the pen.
• After removing the nib assembly from the pen, grasp the nib and feed, at the base only, keeping your fingers off the tines and tip of the nib, and pull them straight out of the housing. If the nib and feed can’t be easily removed, soak the nib and feed in a dilute household ammonia solution for a few hours, and this should allow you to remove the nib and feed from the housing. As a last resort, the nib and feed can be removed using a nib block and punch, but this method should not be necessary unless the pen has been allowed to dry with ink inside. If you do use a nib block and punch, be very gentle, as the end of the feed is quite small, and excessive force can damage the end of the feed. NOTE: The MAXIMUM size punch is 0.064″ in diameter, and it may be easier to find this size in a plug gage (pin gage), available for about $3 from various sources online instead of a punch.

To install the JoWo #6 nib and feed into the JOWO6E-H housing:

• Place the  nib on the feed. Position the nib so that the tip of the nib extends about 4-5mm (0.16″ to 0.2″) from the end of the feed.
• This housing has a nib inlay, as does the standard JoWo #6 housing, but it does not have a flat. Before inserting the nib and feed, look inside the housing and orient the feed and nib so that the nib can slide easily into the nib inlay. The tip of the housing will aid you, as it is oriented to match the nib inlay.
• Without twisting, and keeping your fingers only on the base of the nib and feed, insert the nib and feed fully into the housing. Make sure the nib is centered on the feed. If the nib is still centered on the feed, the nib assembly is now ready to install into your pen.
• Screw this assembly into your pen clockwise. Do not over tighten. Fill your pen with ink and enjoy.
