Description
The M149AE feed is a replacement feed for the new style Montblanc 149 fountain pen.
Do not use this feed with the 18k Special Edition Calligraphy nib. For that nib, use the MC149AE.
Manufactured in the USA by Flexible Nib Factory LLC from black ebonite from Nikko (Japan).
Choosing the correct product for your Montblanc 149 nib and feed
In the photo below, the old style Montblanc 149 nib and feed is on the left, and the new style on the right. The M149AE fits the new style on the right side, no product is currently available for the old style on the left. The nib on the left will not fit this feed.
Installation Instructions
You will need a tool to unscrew the nib assembly from your Montblanc 149 pen. You can purchase this tool from several sources. Be sure to select the nib removal tool for the 2014 and later 149 pens, as the tool for the pre-2014 pens will not work. After unscrewing the nib assembly, you will need to remove the nib and feed from the housing using a nib block, punch, and hammer. When you have the nib removed and feed removed from the housing, place the nib on top of the MC149AE feed, align the slit on the nib with the 3 slit ink slot on the feed. The end of the feed should be adjusted so it sits against the boss at the back of the feed as with the stock feed. Push the nib and feed into the housing until the end of the feed is fully inserted into the section. Screw the housing into your Montblanc 149 pen, tighten with the nib tool, ink as normal, and enjoy.
See additional assembly instructions as with the MC149AE feed.
This feed may also be used with the BM149AE housing in pens that use Bock 380 nib assemblies and use a filling method other than cartridge converters.
